Analogy, Simile and Metaphor

An Analogy is a comparison between two things that have similarities and differences.

A Simile is a figure of speech in which one thing is likened to another.

A Metaphor is a figure of speech used to compare two unlike objects to give a clear picture and understanding.

Examples of Analogy

Seed                  Baby

Planting a seed is like raising a baby
it needs love , nurturing and care
For it to grow and produce good results.

                                                            Love                   Fire

True love is pure it burns like fire
it shines so bright it fulfils ones desire
but love sometimes hurts like burns of fire

                                                            Girl             Diamond

a girl is like a diamond
beautiful and attractive
but expensive to maintain
rough around the edges
but very fragile
